Niptei is the software home-care agencies use to schedule visits, record that care happened, and keep families informed. This page explains, in plain language, what Niptei records, who can see it, and what Niptei never does. The agency that provides your care is the record-keeper for your care records; Niptei is the tool it uses to keep them.
What Niptei records
Almost everything in Niptei is typed in by the agency itself. Niptei records:
- Client records — names, addresses, contact details, care and support plans, service authorizations, and the credentials and documents the agency keeps on file.
- Carer records — names, contact details, languages, and credentials with the expiry dates the agency records for them.
- Visit records — schedules, clock-in and clock-out records (see “Visit location” below), care notes, medication administration records, incident reports, and the audit trail of changes.
- Billing records — invoices and the payments the office records against them.
- Accounts — the email address, role, and agency of each person who signs in.
- Messages sent through Niptei's own forms — support tickets, job applications from the public pages, and care referrals, each delivered to the one agency they were sent to.
Who can see it
Every record belongs to one agency, and the database enforces that with row-level security policies: agency staff see only their own agency's records, carers see their own visits, and family and client accounts see only the records of the one client they are linked to. No account in Niptei can browse another agency's clients, carers, or visits.
Two features share a small, fixed summary outside a sign-in, by design: proof-of-care links and carer passport links. A link carries a self-contained summary (for a proof of care: the visit, the service, the times, who provided it) plus a tamper-evident signature that lets anyone holding the link check the summary has not been altered. Treat a link the way you would treat the record it summarizes — whoever holds it can read that summary.
Visit location
When a carer clocks in or out, the app reads the device's own location at that moment and stores it with the visit record, as electronic visit verification requires. Niptei does not track anyone continuously, does not read location in the background, and does not follow a carer between visits. If a clock-in or clock-out happens away from the client's recorded address, the record says so in plain words for the office to review; a manual entry cannot be saved without a typed reason.
Messages and email
Niptei does not send automatic emails or text messages. Alerts appear inside the app. Where Niptei offers to start an email, the email opens in your own mail app, written by you and sent by you — Niptei never sends it for you.
What Niptei never does
- Niptei never sells personal data, and it carries no advertising trackers and no third-party tracking code.
- Niptei uses no biometric identification and no facial recognition, anywhere.
- Niptei does not check licenses, credentials, or registrations against any government database. Every status Niptei shows is the record as the agency entered it — recorded, not verified.
- Niptei claims no HIPAA, CQC, or other compliance certification, and it is not a state-certified EVV vendor. Each agency remains responsible for its own legal and regulatory obligations.
Keeping and removing records
Records in Niptei are the agency's own records, kept under the agency's control for as long as the agency's own obligations require. If you want a record about you corrected or removed, contact the agency that holds it — its office phone and email are on the Help page when you are signed in. The only cookies Niptei uses are the ones needed to keep you signed in.
Questions
For questions about your own care records, contact your agency first — it keeps the records and can act on them. Platform support: Niptei's platform support contact details have not been published yet. There is no platform support email address to give you.
Changes to this policy
If Niptei's behavior changes in a way this page describes, this page is updated with it and the date above changes. This policy describes the app as it actually works; it is not a promise of features that do not exist.
